Channel Circus + Normandy 1944(LAL)
« on: November 16, 2017, 09:47:50 AM »

Greetings All,

I am wondering if any map maker out there has thought to take the Channel Circus/Normandy Map ( which was a develpment of the original Normandy Map) and combined it with the D-Day Normandy adaptation by LAL (also from the original Normandy Map) ?

Why would this be a valuable addition to the IL2 Map Lexicon ?

LAL's Normandy 1944 has the excellent and historical addition of many of the Allied ALGs (Advanced Landing Grounds - airfields built within the Allied beachhead following the invasion , to allow the US 9th Tactical Air Force , and the RAF 2nd Tactical Air Force to operate from the very first bases on the European continent)  in or near to their historical positions , as well as the Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches as a permanent Map feature.

If both these map evolutions are in fact derivatives of the same original map , how difficult would it be to transpose them together to produce a "Channel Circus 1944" with the ALGs of LAL's excellent Normandy 1944 map ?

Just wondering.
