Rebirth of the P-47 Naval.
« on: January 14, 2018, 09:57:04 AM »

After a request in the original thread, Cwatson and I are reworking the old girl. CWatson is working the classfiles and I the loadouts. Here is a teaser......

This is ONLY a Beta test! Only the USA option has been worked on not the multi1 folder. Choose US when using in a mission.

I have added a few loadouts and plan to add more and do more work on her. I just thought you guys would like to play with it untill I finnish.

Enjoy.  8)

New default skin?

Why not ! It looks very cool ! But, considering it would have happened quite late on the war, I would have thought white insigna would be more 'realistic', like on this skin from M4T : http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads2&file=details&id=5632

Or maybe (for post-war use) like this Skyraider hack : http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads2&file=details&id=2019

Anyway, that's your choice, you're the ones making the job done ;)

Well, it " might " have been in late 45 - 46 but then it would have had the red line in bar wouldnt it? Not sure. What was the last insigna used at the end of the war?

I am really not sure ; the red line appears for the Korean war (circa 1949) on Corsairs and I guess that the insigna looks white-star-only when the same blue is used for the paintscheme. I have looked on Hellcats, I didn't see the blue circle so it may be different... I think the one you're showing is accurate, and the white-star-only may appear on a darker camouflage color. That's more or less what's said here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_military_aircraft_national_insignia#Cold_War_(1945-1991)_to_present

I just think it should be darker blue but hey, this is for you guys so you guys pick. :) I'll have to work on the loadouts. The pylons were removed years ago. The hooks are still there but trying to find everything it may take a bit. I'd like to put rockets, bombs, napalm, ect.
