Hi Jebediah26, try one more thing.
Install this: https://www.mediafire.com/file/ndbc225b1qqoq98/%21MiG-21_hotfix_20171206.rar
It is a hotfix for the Mig-21 causing the printcompassheading bug.

If this doesn't work then I'm all out of suggestions, sorry :(

Jebediah26,
I failed to reproduce your problem, but there's one thing what we doing wrong.  ]banghead[

We started from the assumption that the Tu -22 mode is complete and not corrupted.

So, I suggest to You to download  mod from this link, and install it. Delete previous Tu-22 "air.ini" entries and use new one from text file  in downloaded archive (copy-paste is the best way).

If that doasn't help, I officially give up ...

Greetings and salutations.
I seem to have a problem.
When I make a quick mission, I spawn with a black horizon when in first person view, and when I switch to third person view, there's something wrong with the jet.
It's fuselage is painted with mismatched colours, for example, there's a decal of wheels on its side, there's no sound of the engines despite them visibly working, and none of the controls work. Yaw, axis, release bombs, nothing.
What's the problem?

Which version of the Tupolev:
Tu-22R
Tu-22U
Tu-22K
Tu-22P
What version of B.A.T do you have? 4.3 seems about right.

..black horizon.. : ..cant connect to or does not have a cockpit / = no controls. Look into, and do provide here an error log ( = is a mod ).
.. a possible excess files in the path (would crash air-classfile at 60% however). Standardize the mod, fix the pit path in such a case.
..wrong with the jet:  ???  After the pit is solved, if this persist then look into the log info again, find the culprit. Maybe you meant the wrong mapping: jump ahead.
..no sound.. :  ..  get/need a recent large sound pack mod. Dont forget the above required Jet Era pack mod (aka JTW file in bat).
..wrong skin mapping.. :  the skins were made for another version like 'beta' versus the final mod, just perhaps;
or may be the skins were made for an earlier 'franken' model and that's very likely.
Check dates of plane files versus dates of the skins.
Compare your skins to the plane/summer file content: the default skin(s). Style must match.

I don't have BAT.
I have that problem with all Tu22 versions.
Is BAT needed?
Is there a way to install BAT without all the new maps and planes like with modact?
I have neither the disk space, nor enough internet to to install Full bat, red core, etc.

No ; BAT is not needed.        To say that your're in trouble does not provide the  log.

Works fine in my  412.2  sas5.3.

..I"m transiting to a new computer, a new windows11 and then new intalls.. ..I'm afraid I must pas the flag.
Someone might eventually help if you, if you reveal the techno stuff for all to see:  LOG required.

How to access the log files?
Where are they?
What are they called?
