Enemy and friendly plane labels
« on: February 25, 2018, 04:52:59 PM »

Is there any way I can turn the red and blue in flight labels on that show enemy/friendly plane type and distance?  I know this isnt very realistic but it helps me while I am learning and just getting up to speed and it is still all a bit crazy.  They were on automatically in Steam 4.12.2m and then my VP Modpack version, but I cant seem to turn them on in BAT.  Thanks

Look in difficulty if it's turned on
If it is, but icons still don't turn up, assign a key for Toggle icon mode (or smthn similar)

If such a toggle key is assigned in controls setting and providing you have keyboard/joystick with programmable keys, you may be abble to do some interessing features.
For my own, I've programming a key in such a way that when I press on that key, the icons are displayed (icon type : only number and distance) and as soon as I released the key, the icons disappear.
I my own taste, this is the best compromise between realism and help.

I use a Saitek throttle quadrant with programmable switches.
The soft permit to assign a combination of keying both when you press the switch OR release it and not only when keying.
So I tell the system :
- key <i> once when pressed until release (my icon assignment : i for Icon)
- Key <i> 3 times when released. I put a very short delay between each step so that the transition is hardly perceptible.

I don't know if it's possible on other hardware. Dépends on the soft.
