How cool is this: Knochenklutschers Mk IIb tropical in one of his own skins ready for take-off at Vaenga in BAT 3.3 Pathfinder:

Thanks for all these beauties Tobias!

It's really nice to have a "filtered" Hurricane on any map, thanks for this!

Would it be possible to include the complete set of Hurricane IIC ordnance options with this mod? (Currently only VVS 20mm ShVAK & MG-FF available)  I'd love to fly a "filtered" IIC with appropriate rockets in a CBI scenario...

thx

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

I got into this lately again, a revision of Tropical Mark Is and a Fix for all my Vokes Hurries.
We have the correct shape of Aero Vee Vokes Filter, I found it was still quirked
compared to the real and a slight thought that sth. is utterly strange at Mark Is.

1.Vokes Filter reallocation to proper place, to free up historical Nose section.
2.Mark I Trops restoration of Nose Section, deleting hier.him truncs.

Completely new in the row is the Watts Driven Mk.I with Vokes now availlable,
like SAAF Serial 277 "Q" Goof and first batch of SAAF Mark Is.

Why the Mark I, Why another 3-D Fix?

The Mark I rests in a trunquated 3-D that got altered in hier him to get a overall
smaller Nose section. That is incorrect, Nose section changes on Series Hurricanes
I couldn't detect in Marks I or II. Maybe it was imminent on composite
builds by LVT/VL or Prototype engine Trials, but these are not covered.
Before the change I really tried to look up truncated Mark Is of british Mark.
And none was found.

I'm in the depth of Testing things out, so stay tuned.
Once released the Vokes Mod VVS Hurri will get proper treatment too.

For years I have been trying to make modelers understand that the current shape of the Vokes filter is wrong (also on the Spitfire) and that it should have flat flanks, but all of them continue to reproduce the rounded (I think) Japancat shape. The same mistake was repeated by Barnesy, who only accentuated the curvature of the air intake (whose upper lip should instead be absolutely straight). There is, as far as I know, only one correct model, made by Dimon for the Hurricane, but wrong for all the rest. If you want I will send it to you by PM.

Anyway, here some ingame shots of these features for you to see,
a bit tinkering to get things straight.

They run in latest BAT 3.8.2 and have open Canopies (internal/external) and exactly the same
specs as the Originals, if I'm not mistaken.

No clue, we're still at WIP and publishing, testing not commenced.
Then comes public testing, if all well will move out of WIP.

Although I publish under DWTFYWWI License, so I don't care.

I have collated latest Fixes by Phantom, applied needed hier him Tweaks.
I have included not just the above mentioned Tropical Kites, but took the
FilterMod and Heavy punch VVS into the ring, as both get two Sisters,
a clone of our IIb/Mod with revised Loadout from ugly Filter Hurricana
and same option for a IIb/Mod with Vokes.
My latest Files have opening Canopies and are fully functional in BAT 3.8.2...

Our Default IIb Mod has castrated Loadouts, Ugly Filter served as base for testing them.

So as for historical terms of the evolution of VVS Modifications we have them now at a glance:

Code: [Select]
a british built Tropical Mark IIb (british Armament remained)* usable on Winter Maps
a british built Tropical Mark IIb (with expanded VVS weapons)* usable on Winter Maps
ugly Filter Mark IIb (with expanded VVS weapons)
no Filter Mark IIb (with expanded VVS weapons)
no Filter Heavy Punch VVS Mark IIb (with overload special VVS Weapons)

a british built Tropical Mark I Watts (british Armament remained)* usable on Winter Maps
a british built Tropical Mark I DH (british Armament remained)* usable on Winter Maps
a british built Tropical Mark I Rotol (british Armament remained)* usable on Winter Maps
a british built Tropical Mark IIa (british Armament remained)* usable on Winter Maps
a british built Tropical Mark IIc (british Armament + VVS armament added)* usable on Winter Maps
a british built Tropical Mark IId (british Armament remained)* usable on Winter Maps

I couldn't merge the IIB Mod versions, likely possible at 3 Slots, haven't found out how.

I know it's a bunch of useless Slots, but still the Spits got more and we are close to an End.

I leave Heavy Punch and Ugly Filter as they were, I added some Cockpit Files. They turned out to work better.
Here are the BETA Files for you to test.

Link updated at first Post!!!

Have a nice Day

Thanks Knochenlutscher, these are great! But I still only have VVS weapons available for the Hurricane MkIIC trop, which is all the "Read Me.txt" shows too. Any ideas?

Hi Herb, yes I stumbled over it myself, wanted to fly and intentionally found it empty.
Well, I updated this Slot of the Trop IIC.
Further you can see I brought the IVTrop in the round, nothing special.

Mark ITrop DH saw a Royal Indian Air Force Upgrade, I browsed some of the Vet Sites
and found traces of underwing stores on Mk.I Trops in India/CBI.
Timeline is relatively late, sources speak about late 1941 till late 1942.
Operations in the Long range Recce and Groundattacks on MkI commenced by
1.Sqn RIAF in late 1942.
2 Pictures of the Long Range Hurrie I here:

A new Update is out, see first Post got a refreshment too.
All read mes updated, collated even if you want.

Best wishes
Tobias
