Hi guys, for those who downloaded my latest texture, are there any comments, good or bad, so I can change it if need be?

Am sad to say although downloaded, I have not had time to test it yet  :-[  however i would give a +10 to some QMB's for that Map as well  :)

Will be sure to report when i get some time, and to experiment on some other maps  ;)

Finally  :-[  got around to checking out the new seabed textures for New Georgia map, very nice improvement with no noticeable tilling effect and very pleasing to the eye  :)
I did notice a little FPS hit, but this is to be expected, and not enough to drop it to unreasonable levels!  ;)

Used the test missions included in the additions(great!) by Robhans to fly around this very nice looking map, shame a campaign/missions(qmb) are not yet available

Thanks for this and looking forward to your next suprise

Made a new shallows texture for Redko's Palau map....

I was having trouble getting the map to show correctly in DBW so I fixed it. Here is a link to that post...

Here is the texture. Please, any feedback is welcome.:)

As a matter of fact I use the Palau map a lot in DBW 1.71 for testing out "things" I'm working on at the moment.

I noticed - to my surprise - that the shallow water texture isn't seamless in DBW 1.71, you see a virtual line running through the water. I haven't tested yet for comparison the V4.09 map if it is the case also.
But your newest release is seamless which makes it  look better of course.

You forgot to index the .tga:it is 3mb instead of the usual 1mb.
I don't know if the DBW 1.71  Palau version is the same as the V4.09 but the entry in V4.09 is: Water2 = redko_tex/Palau/redko_palau_coral2.tga,-2
And in V4.09 a BumpH file is added.

Maybe a suggestion to add a link to Redko's map otherwise it is not possible to edit the entry in the load.ini.

Are you saying you had touble getting it to work? As far it being 3mb, thats what all my shallow textures are and this one works in my DBW 1.71.  With this texture I put instructions in the read me to place it in the water folder so the entry I used should work. I have no bumph for this texture but wouldnt mind learning how to make one if it will make my textures look better on maps. :) I will add link to his map but it doesnt work correctly in DBW I had to "fix" it read here...

When I first got DBW I could not change the shallows even with the load.ini extracted from the SFS files untill hguderian gave a link to the variable temperature mod where you must place this mod at the top of your mods folder so it loads first then place - in front of each map folder in it you wish to change textures for. I sent a pm to him asking if I can post it here for others to use so they can change textures. Or, does anyone else know a way to do this?

3mb textures will influence performance, especially on older systems.

Making BumpH files is fairly easy. Here is a "How To" I made a year ago:
