Hi Marat
What version of IL2 are you running?

I have GreenHell working perfectly in my BAT 3.6.2 install and in my VP Modpack install but, in Modact 5.3 and CUP (to part 12), despite having no missing objects, I cannot get missions to save - The map loads fine and I can open it in Map Editor, but no missions - Go figure?

This is a problem with so many different versions of IL2.
I now only use BAT as my benchmark.

It may be a texture issue? I will keep investigating.

Hi Squashman,

I use 4.13.4 version. And this is the issue? It won't work with this version at all?

It's a fine looking map. I guess the various ports have docks and cranes where applicable?

cheers

David

I presume you have 4.13.4 with Modact 6.4.
Unfortunately I do not use this version; have you posted your logfile?

Unfortunatelly the log file became too big to insert it here after trying to same a mission in FMB.
It can be found here:

I sam many missing objects, if I am not mistaken, but then why the static ini checker shows all objects are found. Very strange

Sorry Marat, I'm not experienced enough to cast much light on your problem from your logfile.

It looks like there is at least one missing object which is logged many times - for example;

[18:49:43]   INTERNAL ERROR: MeshObj: Can't load SIM 3do/airfield_KDP/Path1/CountryLong_{0}/mono.sim
[18:49:43]   Mesh 3do/airfield_KDP/Path1/CountryLong_{0}/mono.sim not created

In your 3do folder there should be airfield_KDP (which I think for 4.13.4 is /#SAS/Mapmods/3do/airfield_KDP/)
then there should be a folder "Path1"
Inside this folder there should be a folder "CountryLong_(0)"
Then inside this folder are two files
Body.msh
mono.sim
You logfile indicates a problem with these two files

There may be other problems but try checking to see if you have these two files first.

I've just checked by searching in my SAS folder and found no such folder or such files. So, where it is possible to get them from?  :)

Map objects are not necessarily placed in the mapmods folder. Most are normally inside one of the SFS files in the game's root directory. (Unless one has a rather exhaustive list of modded/repainted objects in the mods folder.)

The best place to verify the presence or lack of an object (besides using the static Ini checker tool) is to look inside the static.ini file itself, normally located here:

MODS/STD/com/Maddox/il2/objects/static.ini

(The parent folder for /STD/ might be named differently, depending on the form of your game's mod activation.)

If an object does not appear here--even if you have all its related files in your mods folder--it's nonexistent to the game.

I just searched my static.ini using "KDP" as the search word, and found listings for road plates, concrete plates and paths.

I think these objects are included in Boomer's Object Pack (in 4 SFS files). At least, I greatly expanded my own 4.09 object count thereby.

Later game versions *might* have most or all of this stuff in Boomer's pack. But as a 4.09 Rebel I can't say with any certainty. ;)

I think Marat was saying that the static.ini checker tool found no missing files for the GreenHell map, but the map will still not save missions.
I tried a test of the GreenHell map in a Modact 5.3 install. Same thing - could not save missions even though the static checking tool found no missing objects???
Can you think of anything else that could prevent missions from saving?

And I've just found this 3do/airfield_KDP/Path1/CountryLong_{0}/mono.sim in my static ini as well.  A mistery  :)

Stand by Marat - from WXTech's post above, those files probably have nothing to do with the GreenHell map - the static.ini checker is obviously a better guide!
