text & mouse cursor size

the native resolution of my monitor is 3840 x 2160 and windows 10 scaling is set at 150%.  This makes the mouse cursor very tiny overall and the text in the full mission builder is miniscule.  Is there a way to edit/change the size of the cursor and the text/font?  I have tried searching and may be putting the wrong terms in the search box.

This applies to stock (4.12.2m, 4.13.4m & 4.14.1m), hsfx, vp_Mod.

PS: this works for the font size in FMB, for the cursor I have no idea unfortunately....

NG-HUD and NG-MAP should be compatible with resolutions higher than 1920x1080 but I have no way to test it. It's just guess work at this point. Your help in identifying incompatibilities at higher resolutions is appreciated. Both mods include a bigger mouse pointer.

(By the way, I just silently updated NG-MAP to include the "arialSmall.font" I overlooked, no need to re-download if the small map labels look good in your game).

What is NG-HUD and NG-MAP?  Is this a setting in the config.ini or bld.ini and if so do you just add the lines from the article you linked or are these mods?

I know there are some HUD mods that conflict with any mission that uses Triggers, whereby their game locks up and boots them from a game regardless of any CRT setting.

Hi whistler, I just bypassed the problem you mention by creating a #BAT_biggerfonts mod in BATMODS containing the four era folders and each of them finally the single modded "arialSmall.font" as not to have to touch your mods. It works flawlessly with 2560x1440 resolution.

* As reference for 2020 users who are using 4K screen resolution

To enlarge the text in your FMB do this ( Tested only in VP Modpack ):

1- Go to C:\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#SAS\GUI\font ( Drive/game path/location depending on your installation )

2- Open with notepad the file named " arial8.FONT " ( No brackets )

3- Copy and paste this text inside it

5- That's it. Now you can finally read the text in the FMB without risking of becoming blind!  ;D

*Note: What was missing in the file was the 3840 string, that's why you were seeing the text so small in your FMB! The number " 16 " determines the size of the font displayed ( Increase or decrease this value following your preferences ) ;)
