Hi folks,

This is the
IL-2 Great Battles Recorder
Mod.

The purpose of this mod is to overcome an annoying limitation of the game:
Whenever you record a track in IL-2 Great Battles, recording will silently stop once the track file has reached a size of 512MB.
This is particularly annoying when you are fighting online, on a crowded server, because tracks will grow quickly (512MB can be reached in less than 5 minutes) and as fate would have it, your recording will stop right before the most interesting things happen in your mission/sortie.

Using IL-2 Great Battles Recorder, you can concentrate on your flight and let this tool automatically restart recording another track - silently, automatically, in the background, with no further action required on your end.

Installation:
There is none.
Just put the file wherever you want and run it there.
The mod will store a local logfile (for debugging purpose) and settings in the same location where you placed this file.

Usage:
This mod is as self-explaining as possible and hence ships without manual.
You can simply hover your mouse over areas of interest in the program window and a tooltip will pop up automatically, telling you what's behind.

Mike, my squad mate wants to know how much of a resource drain this app is..if any...........  he records our missions and forgets to keep recording after is turns off...

No worries mate, this app is absolutely no resource drain at all.
The app isn't polling, it works with windows file system hooks.
The whole CPU time during a multi-hour session is somewhere in the milliseconds range, same to the disk usage time.
No frame spikes either, this really comes totally unintrusive.

'46 auto recording is a feature implemented in Ultrapack 3.3.
CloD is out of reach for modding.

Hello

I like this little piece of clever software but it isn't working for me. I fly mainly online and I start the recording from a switch on my HOTAS. In the tool window I constantly get 'unknown recording button' message and after the 500 Mb limit it just doesn't successfully start up again. Are there any pointers for me to look at?

EDIT: By moving the Track Recording Key mapping from my TW HOTAS to the keyboard I solved my issue. Tool works very well. For the VR pilot it just means using an awkward controller but it's no big deal.

Sorry for delay, have been busy studying chess.  '46 also runs out of time when recording doesn't it?  I know watching UT '46 videos (Fishhy) he often gets the guys to refresh their recording so it doesn't auto quit, that is what BOS is doing...no?
