Project Beartrap F7F skins for mace's Iron Works T-Cats
« on: July 01, 2019, 09:26:01 PM »

Version 2 fix posted below- July 7, 2019

Skins for mace's new F7F mod, here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,61769.0.html

Huge thanks to mace for the tremendous amount of work put into the mod, and for the honor of using my skins for the initial release.

Here is a set of skins in 2048, with a rebuilt template and improvements. They're my interpretation of mace's Project Beartrap concept, operating off small carriers for interdiction or ASW work. While they are fictional and some artistic license taken, they've been done in a historical context envisioning S-2 Tracker, E-1 Tracer, and A-1 Skyraider squadrons of the day operating this aircraft instead.

Version 2- fixed incorrect variant numbers, fixed incorrect skin folder name for install: https://www.mediafire.com/file/g2n5hqbk12tjhd4/F7F_Project_Beartrap_skins_v2.zip/file

Carrier Air Wing AW(Tail Code)
VA-65 Attack Squadron,4 skins
VAW-12 AEW Squadron, 2 skins - use F7F VAW-12 Bats Nose art from original mod
VS-39 ASW Squadron, 3 skins

Carrier Air Wing AU(Tail Code)
VA-42 Attack Squadron, 4 skins
VAW-121 AEW Squadron, 2 skins - use F7F VAW-121 Griffins Nose Art from original mod
VS-24 ASW Squadron, 3 skins

USN Composite Squadron VC-1
F7F-5SW ECM and Tanker, 2 skins
F7F-4AJ Recon, target tug, and drone director, 3 skins

Marine Composite Squadron VMCJ-1 - use F7F VMCJ-1 Nose Art from original mod
F7F-5SW ECM and Tanker, 2 skins
F7F-4AJ  Recon, 2 skins

Naval Weapons Center China Lake and one generic training skin

Skins are named as for what model and variant they were designed for, for example AEW skin not for ASW model, etc., but obviously you can use/rename them however. Two more skinpacks are WIP, international/blanks and Korea/Vietnam specific. Feel free to downsize if I don't get to it soon. Thanks!

new download in first post-fixed incorrect variant numbers painted on skins, very small detail but important to me as representing what mace had intended. Apologies to make you do it over again, also fixed an incorrect skin folder name for install so you don't have to rename it. Thanks for the comments!!
