Map of Sudest Island
« on: August 24, 2019, 11:07:58 AM »

Here is a download link for a map I had laying around unfinished. I put the last work into it and here it is. The area itself probably saw little if any real combat during the Pacific War, but it lay to the east of Port Moresby and was important to keeping the sea lanes open. In any case it is a typical Pacific Islands map. Airfields are imagined as are the few small ports and settlements. The map is a mixture of jungle islands and sand islands, with emphasis placed on the look of terrain. There are lots of smaller islands spread out over the map, all actual places. The larger islands also give some largish land masses with mountains to fly over.

Download (with static)
https://www.mediafire.com/file/xfdm067hn2zbtcv/ag_Sudest_download.rar/file

add to all.ini
(please use this instead of the lines in the download)

ag_sudest  ag_sudest/load.ini
ag_sudest_woods   ag_sudest/load_woods.ini

and a few screenshots

Yes, great to see you do new maps ! Thanks a lot !

But there is a problem : I think you forgot the static file, so map does not work well (instaled in BAT/WAW, mao opens, but can not zoom completely like with others, and of course... no static, so not possible save a mission ! map with _tree does not load at all). But I am sure once we have the static file, it will be perfect !

THANKS !

Now, it is quite better !

-normal map loads and saves perfectly in BAT, but
-there still seems to have a problem with the tree one... I saw something telling there is problem with the 2D map... also, comparing the lines in the 2 loads.ini and load_woods.ini with WinMerge, I saw something else : water2 and water3 are not same... shouldn't it just the tree0 line to be different ?

Hi Agracier same problem as Gaston - when trying to load the wood version get the following error message in FMB;

MAP2D is missing from 'maps/ag/sudest/load_woods.ini' ???

Normal map ok and great btw!

SOLVED The map entry is wrong in the all.ini - should read ag_sudeast/load_woods.ini NOT ag/sudeast/load_woods.ini

tnx for posting. I must have been fuzzy-headed when adding the lines to the all-ini. I have to work from 2 different machines to access the internet or my Il-2 install. Neither can do both. And neither can connect via network either for some obscure reason. So I end up getting confused and making mistakes. Tnx for finding it because, as happens so easily, own mistakes in proof-reading are hard to find ...
