I can see in the download there's a "! Cocks crew" folder inside the "! Cocks crew" folder... Installing the mod as provided would have no effect. Make sure you have:

#SAS > ! Cocks crew > 3DO ...

Thanks Pete .... There is no mention of the static.ini chock objects in either mod install - they might be an original eye candy mod.... ?

I just tried to install the latest SAS Engine mod and butons ... but I get a Blast deflector error ....... probably best to quit while I still have a working version ...  ;)  There is obviously some "hidden" dependency  :(

Sorry I could not help Glynn, my own install has been built up over many years and includes some stuff from previous ones, little wonder I cannot remember just what was required to get working what I now take for granted, so many things are dependent on other stuff to the extent I dare not delete anything just in case I actually need it for something.  :o

Imagine how traumatic it must be for the newcomer if old hands struggle to make stuff work.  ;)

Best bet might be to build a stand by install that includes all the main dependencies and then try again from there, I have one for testing anything I make so I can see if it will fail before I upload, it includes Jet era and engine mod as well as weapons packs and so on, it is also beneficial if like you I encounter something that screws my main install, that way I do trial and error in something I do not mind losing. :D

Hope you figure it out eventually.

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Thanks for trying Pete.

The whole mod scene is an utter mess these days anyway. You either chase the mod inter-dependency trail until you disappear up your own tail .... or opt for a mega pack.

I'm just a 3d guy, sorting this out is outside my area of expertise.

Hello Glynn, just did a quick test in my standby install, take a look see if these help. ;)

This is what is inside my basic test install:

I removed any aircraft and stationary but left in some objects just for ease of viewing.

Notice the dates for engine mod and parts associated with it.

There are some arms mods there used for testing.

The test install does not have Jet war set up or the US_Marine_Aviation packs but my main install does.

Those dependencies are the most up to date I have, it is possible some at the site have been updated though.

Entries in the config:

//==========
[Mods]
Stab4all=1
PALShowChocks=1
PALShowCatGear=1
DumpFuel=1
RunwayLightsKeepOnSeconds=300
PALQMBProMissions=Missions/Quick/
PALMODsColor=0
WWI_Gallipoli    WWI_Gallipoli/WWI_load.ini
PALQMBLinesPl0=12
PALQMBLinesPl1=12
PALQMBLinesPl2=12
PALQMBLinesPl3=12
PALQMBLinesPl4=12
PALQMBLinesPl5=12
PALQMBLinesPl6=12
PALQMBLinesPl7=12
//==============
RandomSplash=1
netCallsign=

As you see there is not a great deal here, it is mentioned in the chocks mod thread though that some renaming to
put some folders higher in the hierarchy might be in order but in my test they are as was posted I think although other
stuff might have been altered to avoid crashes in my main install.

Strange thing is, I used this from the download, 00_PAL-Chocksv4122, however, this folder is not in my main install that I can see
so maybe it has been integrated into something else. o_O

The folders shown were just transferred from my main install apart from 00_PAL-Chocksv4122 which I just added.

I just update if needed but usually do both installs together.

Hope that helps, best I can do, our installs will be so much different that only trial and error can get you there. :D

My last words on this, hugs and kisses to all. :-*

Addenda:  After I posted and put the stew on the stove I thought what if I disable the chocks mod
in the test install just for the sake of completeness.
:o

Guess it is integrated in one of the folders shown after all. :P

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Thanks Pete. The only basic difference in mine is that I don't have the Engine mod Ver 2.8. I have !SAS Engine mod. When I tried to update it and add the latest latest buttons file I got a 70% CTD. The log showed an issue with a blast deflector. Not sure why .. it must be one of the carriers I guess.

Anyway, enjoy your supper....  ;)

sorry for the late reply - I have just noticed that the RN carriers have hired IJN crews for chocking in their birds :D
is there a way to use RN figures for the job, or maybe the US ones instead of the IJN people?
