I have made a simple config PDF to help anyone that is wanting to make IL-2/1946 VR a reality.  I recommend reading the entire guide before making changes.  The guide is at:  http://www.uberdemon.net/pictures/SAS/IL2Keys.pdf.

I talked about ways to make the desktop environment more conductive of IL-2 flying.  First I got some hardware:


You can see you can use it to fix the VR controllers:


Drill a few holes...


Mount it in your desk...


And use it with your controllers...

Thanks very much for this UberDemon - your hard work is very much appreciated.

Still haven't been able to get my Pimax HMD to work with IL2 BAT and VorpX, but will keep trying - I think it may be a case of fine tuning the respective settings, as I occasionally get some flickering images over the Steam interface when trying to load IL2

Would be interested to hear if there are any other Pimax users out there, who have tried this?

I am assuming you checked the Pimax recommended settings in https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/official-pimax-5k-8k-recommendations/ .  Have you tried asking Ralf (keymaster/developer/vorpX god) for help?  He is super responsive.

Anyway thanks for the compliments.  This is getting me all excited about starting work on my own application.  Have a lot of homework to do, including updating to BAT and re-visiting my abandoned project from 2013 to make a better mission generator.

thanks very much for your great instructions. It's wonderful that thanks to VorpX IL2 1946 BAT can be used for VR.
After some days of of testing and flying a short il2dcg Tobruk41 campaign (survived as POW) one remark concerning BAT with VorpX:
Problem Re-Centering is very often required: I deactivated "Enable head tracking" in General Settings in VorpX and used opentrack for tracking. With opentrack centering Tracking is only 1 -4 times required per mission.
