Forgotten BI-1 Campaign (Compatible with SAS BAT 3.7.2 and Later)
========================================================
Adaptation by UberDemon (AKA danzigzag/DZZ) released on 1 Jan 2020, version 1.0
READ Installation at bottom of file.
What is included -> 3 Versions of BI-1 Campaign:
------------------------------------------------
* Static Campaign with movies
* All missions in Single folder (under RU folder)
* All missions in Single (World At War) folder (under RU folder) to support whistler's community project to bring back earlier versions to BAT standards.
BACKGROUND:
This is an original short 11-mission static campaign by Ilya Shevchenko from an IL-2 Sturmovik update released in 2002. It introduces the flight simulation world to perhaps the first-ever inclusion of the Soviet BI-1 rocket-propelled fighter. It is based on historical flight trials, and "what-if" scenarios.
WHY:
When Forgotten Battles and subsequentially IL-2 1946 were released, I noticed some original content was not included. I requestede Oleg Maddox the permission to release those missing missions for IL-2 1946 users. He was OK with it as long as I stated I was the one releasing them (just in case they did not work well in the new releases, which is totally understandable.). I have released all the playable content before for official and modded versions except for the BI-1 static campaign. There have been several difficulties getting those missions to work properly with newer versions of IL-2, so I simply stopped working on them.
WELL:
In the end of the day, we all enjoy this flight simulator because of Oleg Maddox (very mostly), and to a huge degree, Ilya Shevchenko, so I thought it would be proper to bring back this relic from the past to some of our newest fans. I hope this is the right way to show my appreciation.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO IT?
I had to fly (not using autopilot) each mission several times to make sure they were doable in SAS BAT. I had to make some changes (as minimal as possible) to original missions so they would be playable and enjoyable.
AND?!?!
OK, the campaign version includes Intro/in-between movies/tracks. Originally they were present. Due to incompatibilities with previous versions I took some artistic liberties in creating new tracks and messages in the movies (because originals did not have dialogue).
DISCLAIMER
Use at your own risk. If you do not like any of this, there is a great key in your PC which can help you with this: "Delete." Any anguish or happiness resulting from this is up to you, and I can't be held responsible for anything because you have a choice.
WARNING
My version of IL-2 displays historically-correct World War 2 German/Finnish symbols, which may be present on tracks (not sure...). If it is illegal for you to own this content in your computer because of the place you live in, then do not download it. Not my fault if you did not read or understand the language this was written in. Sorry to be to the point but I don't want me or anyone else to get in trouble because of a hobby.
INSTALLATTION:
This has only been tested with SAS BAT 3.7.2 and this is the only version I'll support. Extract the zip file to anywhere you want. Copy the unzipped "#UD_BI1Missions" to the BATMODS folder. Install MOD from JSGME. Start BAT. Play. Win.
