EXE big buffer for DLL-16384
« on: March 09, 2020, 11:39:09 AM »

In the process, work on the DLL supporting texture up to 16384 (needed to create maps) had to modify the EXE file. This file has increased internal memory buffers.
Without this EXE, pre-alpha DLL-16384 does not work for me.
File Properties:
1. Game version: 4.09M ...... 4.13.4. Not support 4.14.1
2. Support for the classic mod game.
3. ХМХ Java: 1024 Mb.
4. Does not support the full editor when working with large maps such as Bessarabia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone can try to use this EXE file. It is theoretically possible to increase productivity in a complex scene in the game and have fewer delays over big cities.
The author assumes no responsibility for the use of this file. Anyone using this file uses it at their own risk.

Anyone could kindly explain to me what could be the advantage (if any) of using this file for common users, without need to create maps?

Thank you!

Thanks carsmaster.

Sorry, I can't understand what do you mean for "productivity". BTW, I installed your new EXE in 4.13.4 (with FM Mod Activator and SAS IL-2 Selector) and it works.

Tried it on my CUP 4.12.2m and didnt notice any difference. I think productivity means texture loading on complex maps, and less load time for objects over dense cities?

If yes, where did you exactly put carmaster's new exe ...?

Hi Mick
I just replaced my il2fb.exe (saving the original of course) with this one. I tried it through the selector and just through the .exe but no difference noted?

Same here. The only difference I noticed is that my system simply does not have the resources to start game just by the Carsmaster's exe. Launching by selector (with RAM usage set to 512 MB) it works, but I think it is just a placebo and I can't notice any difference. According to what said by Storebror in the past on this matter (if I understood correctly) such an amount of RAM (1024 MB) for Java may be useful only to manage big maps and crowded missions in FMB. I don't know, though, if those "buffers" that Carsmaster mentions can give some secondary gain.

If you use the Selector :
- in the folder ...\bin\selector\basefiles\mod save the exe file
- in the above-mentioned folder place the new exe
