Osaka International Airport ( Itami Airport ) ITM/RJOO
Itami airport was buile as the 2nd Osaka airfield in 1939. It was returned to the Japanese authorities by the U.S. army in 1958 and continued to be used as a civil airport. She used to be the most important airport in the whole Kansai region. The original destination of the famous jl123 air crash in 1985 was this airport. After the Kansai Airport was put into use in 1994, the Japanese government once considered abolishing Itami airport, but it was strongly pushed back by the local residents. In addition, due to complaints from residents, the airport has restricted the take-off and landing of aircraft with more than two engines since 2006. After Kansai Airport became an international airport for receiving international routes, even though Itami was still called as "International Airport", she actually only takes flights inside Japan.
In addition, it is worth mentioning that, as KIX is in the ascendant, many foreigners first think of KIX when they mention osaka airport. Even me didn't know that Osaka Airport is ITM for a long time.

Fuchiyama airbase
This naval aviation base built in 1944, was restored to agricultural land in 1946 after World War II. The straight road now located there is supposed to have been built along the main runway of that year.
I restored the magnetic heading of the main runway (08/26), but the length was increased to 2000m. The buildings of the base next to the runway refers almost entirely to the JASDF Nyutabaru Airbase of the (thst base is in Kyushu).

The Maizuru Harbor & Maizuru Naval Heliport
You guys must be familiar with Maizuru Harbor, one of Japan's four major military Harbors. I've been there twice personally, and once is  the opening event of the harbor. The heliport in north has a 400m runway. In the game, even VC10 can take off from it (is the Thrust-to-weight ratio of the VC10 mod in a little too high?)
I also built the military harbor, red brick warehouse Museum, Navy Memorial Hall, and Navel school in the south.

RYUS SKY PARK
Located on the Karasu Island, west side of Ise Bay.
Now it seems to be use for hot-air balloon. The runway is only 240m long

This photo is borrowed from Mr.Tori's blog (Surch of Airfields ยท 3)

ex - Uzurano Airfield Runway
This is a small airfield built during World War II. It's used to let fighters built here to take off and go to other airfields.
Now the factory next to it had disappeared, but the runway is still visible. Besides, there are monuments and two very small museums nearby.

The museum mad a 1:1 N1K2-J's mod, and sometime it will be put on the end of the runway.
The factory here was used to build N1K

AND~
Today, the logo of Osaka World Expo is open.
The World Expo will be held on Yumishima island in Osaka Bay. I have made this island before. (The island to its north is Maishima, which has an old airfield on it)
If Osaka is going to build some new buildings on Yumeshima island, then I will build it along with it on this map.

Some more Airfield
Now I have finished all the airfields on the west of Lake Biwa. At present, there are still 3 glider runways, 2 heliports, 3 large airports/airfields, and 3 seaplane airports left. I'll publish this map after I finish all these airfields. After that, I will continue to finish some famous scenic spots on it.

Yao Airport (RJOY)
The airport was built as the Hanshin flight school in 1933.And returned to Japan as a civil airport after the war.
However, the airport does not accept commercial flights. There also don't have a real terminal. It's used by aerial photography companies, tourist companies, and private pilots. In addition, the JGSDF also stationed some helicopters here.
Two runways here are 1490m and 1200m long.

Nara-Ken Heriport
This heliport began to be used in 1998. It was intended to be used as sightseeing flights or a transit point to KIX. But these projects are not booming, so now it mainly used by fire brigade and police.

Four drill grounds for JGSDF.
I didn't want to make these things at first. The landscape is not easy to restore. And I wasn't sure at first that the runway on it is for aircraft. But after some resurch, I found that JGSDF do use helicopters on these places. So I decided to make them on this map.

Shinodayama drill ground (Osaka)

Aonohara drill ground (Sagamira) (Near by the Uzurano Ranway)

Aebano drill ground (Takashima)

Osadano drill ground (Fukuchiyama)

Ohno glider runway (1300m)

Kisogawa glider runway (1200m)

Kushidagawa glider runway (500m) (Didn't completed because of the land right problem. Abandoned now)

Ise-wan Helipad

Akeno Helipad
A IJA's aviation school built in 1920. Now the JGSDF use helicopters here.
