Frist produced in 1936 as fast civilian transatlantic seaplanes, these plane flew under the Air France colours till the outbreak of WW2, then were extensively modified to be able to fulfill military missions of distant reconnaissance. Defensive and offensive armament was added, Nose was redesigned and lengthened and they joined the Aeronavale E11 squadron. In the 1940 campaign they flew intensively over the Mediterranea, being even successfully involved in aerial fighting with Italian seaplanes. They remained in active service in the  Vichy forces then with the Free French, till lack of access to spare parts (that remained in an area under German control) brought an end to their operational service in August 1943.
A very smooth and elegant machine, of push-pull design, with characteristics thrust-augmentation, enhanced airflow, Chausson radiators, suspended under the engine housings (they look as reactors but are only highly efficient aerodynamic air radiators).

What remains to be done:
1) The interior of the plane in external view deserves to be improved as the glasses of the nose allow a through view of it.
2) add the D1, D2 and CAP files in the hier.him

The "Open Cockpit" command will open the gun positions hatches and move the gunners in position, as well as popping up the lateral position's machine guns.

I had an old french Pamphlet for their Seaplane fleet.
The pictures where badly reproduced in that publication.
But your output is striking and with shiny lines.

No colours, plain b&w it was like recollection of WW2 french Water Planes, really weird stuff.
Latécoère, it broke my tongue. I just bought it for the weird names and really off topic
Editions.
icare or what the name was, I have the 2nd one still here, about Elsace Bombardement Group.
The Hydraviation Edition got lost at a moving.
Was stuff from the 70s or 80s depending on the issue.

Ah ICARE.... a very good source though as strange format, a bad technical quality (not only the photographs always in B&W and often of poor resolution, but the binding of this review....) and an annoying 1/3 of the pages dedicated to advertisements,  but quite well documented, bringing also direct testimonies of pilots and technical personal with a wealth of information.

Most of the ICARE reviews are available on Gallica and can be downloaded freely from there in pdf format.

For some reason it's better to use Edge than Chrome when browsing the Gallica site (a slow site and Chrome has a bug when browsing through the pages of a book or review there, though you can download them even with Chrome)
