Hi,

I have purchased IL2 1946 from steam (v4.13.4m).

I copied game to new folder, followed instructions to install VP Modpack (30 March 2016) & applied recommended patch from the same site.

The game no longer starts from either the selector or exe file.

Resolution is 1900 x 1200.

16GB memory/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 

Can anyone confirm that this mod works with the version provided by steam.

Following that any ideas on why the game does not start?

VP Modpack was made for 4.12.2. The universal rule of modpacks: modpacks only work for the game version they're made for! You need version 4.12.2.

Unfortunately for you, by installing a 4.12 modpack over a 4.13 game, you ruined that installation beyond repair; complete FUBAR. Now it's no longer a game, but just a bunch of files that take up HD space for no reason, and should be deleted.

Luckily, Steam allows you to switch to version 4.12.2. To do this:
- Go to your LIBRARY
- Right click on IL-2 Sturmovik 1946
- Select Properties
- Go to the tab BETAS
- Select 4.12.2 in the dropdown selection menu "Select the beta you would like to opt into"
- Click the CLOSE button.

Then, once the game has finished downdating to 4.12, you can retry installing VP modpack.
