But I was flying a B-17  ::(

Quite taken with the improved A.I since I returned to IL2 - while the P-51s were away chasing Doras down to the deck, their more numerous snub-nosed chums had a fine old time upstairs. Not many bombers made it home - and the fighter pilots didn't exactly get a warm welcome back to base. There were rumblings about court-martials and reassignments.













Historical note: The real brightly-coloured 356th Fighter Group had an excellent reputation as bomber escorts - unlike my virtual glory-hunters.

that FW-190 was the leading actor in those shots.  :)
