Question on BAT requests
« on: December 31, 2020, 01:15:42 PM »

Greetings mates.

Just to be upfront, I've always been a big fan of Saab planes, particularly post-war stuff, but there is obviously some great WW2 stuff from Saab as well.  I am aware of the rules for requests.  I was searching for previous requests, but they all seem quite old, and one was redirected to a page that no longer exist (Draken in particular).  I will gladly do the research and put as much info for these planes if there is an appetite for talented modders to bring these awesome planes into IL-2 / BAT.

Although not all-inclusive this is a good list of Saab developed/manufactured/co-developed aircraft:
https://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/contractor.asp?thisCompany=Saab

Definitely the model 17, 18, 21, Lansen, Draken, Viggen, Grippen (and Grippen NG) would be incredible additions.

I figure this a safe area to post this.

Not to mention the "stop-gap" fighter J22 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FFVS_J_22 that was using the reverse-engeneered Pratt and Witney engine (that was also the engine of the 17 the swedish dive/light bomber).

Great requests UberDemon! I love the Draken, Viggen and Gripen. So iconic and beautiful Saab planes.  :)

I can do the same and provide all info i can on MiG-29,Su-27, F-15 and Tornado.
