Start on runway / carrier in QMB?
« on: February 18, 2021, 04:32:12 AM »

Hello everyone,

I apologize for asking too many questions.

Since IL-2 1946 have evolved a lot with BAT.  I want to know if there is still a way to start on a runway or carrier in QMB?

I vaguely remember doing that, but I forgot the methods of doing it. I am currently figuring out each features in updated QMB.

Yes there is, by selecting scramble as the mission type.

Thank you for the reply.  I attempted this way. I still started in the air instead of being on the runway.  There must be something missing.  There is no option for me to change the starting altitude from any numbers to 0.  I am stuck at 100 as minimum.

(I am still working on it.)

Some of the PTO scramble quicks begin aboard carriers. Offhand, I couldn't list them all, but I did get some shots from "BAT_CoralSea_Akagi_Class." If memory serves, some of the Midway quicks also include carrier take-off options. Interestingly, as shown in two of the screenies below, you can try non-naval or non-carrier-borne aircraft aboard carrier decks. They aren't all going to work. Some aircraft - for instance, four-engine bombers - simply won't fit. Many others can't develop enough speed for take-off; they'll just drop down into the sea and explode when the carrier strikes them. Others work quite well. For example, the Lerches are ideal for carrier take-offs. :-)

That is noted.  I have been looking forward flying both Naval and non-naval (for what'-if) from carriers.

OH MY GOD! I just realized I had it disabled by default. I enabled and now I am finally on runway!
