New Dispersal/Taxiways
« on: March 07, 2021, 05:30:12 PM »

Disclaimer: This is not built from scratch, I have modified ConcretePlate KDF to suit my needs.

This project came about when I wanted to build 3 new airstrips on my Darwin map for a campaign and found nothing suitable, it morphed into this.

I have created new dispersal/taxiways that aim to provide map builders and to lesser extent mission builders with the necessary tools to create complex good looking disperal areas, hopefully I've at least partially succeeded.
They will never look as good as Green Hell 43's taxiways from a far, but they have issues of their own.

There are 13 variations, Darwin_Gravel, Darwin_Oiled_Gravel, Darwin_Earth, Darwin_Dirt, Darwin_Dirt_2, Darwin_Dirt_3, New Guinea_Earth, New Guinea_Earth_2, New Guinea_Dirt, New Guinea_Dirt_2, New Guinea_Mud, Solomans_Coral and Pacific_Sand.

Each one consists of:

Taxi Long              1.
Taxi Mid                2.
Taxi Short             1.
Turn 5 deg.           2.
Turn 15 deg.         2.
Turn                     20, 25, 30 and 45 degrees.
Corners                1 x medium and 1 x small.
Circles                  1 x large and 2 x small.
Taxi 45 deg.          1 x left and 1 x right.
Taxi Ends              2.
Junction                1.
Square                  1 x small.

The more pronounced the markings the greater likelihood of seeing obvious repeating patterns, try to avoid using the same plate multiple times consecutively.
For this reason I have created multiples of taxi, turn5, turn15 and circlesmall.

Path should be #SAS\STD\3do\airfield.
Copy and paste static entry into static ini.

Download links below each screenshot.

Thanks to Kopfdorfer and fredboy for feedback.

Feel free to alter colour, add your own textures or even make edges less regular, all I ask is that if you create something good you share it.

This work is free from any restrictions, in other words do whatever you want with it.

If this meets SAS standards then please move to MapWorx or appropriate area.
