IL-2 1946: Midway
« on: March 12, 2021, 01:13:46 AM »

Hello Gents,
Here's video I was working on recently. I wanted to do one in the pacific but with the early skins which I always really liked.
Initially I wanted to make a full pacific video with all the planes that were involved in it but it would have taken too much time.
This 7 minute video took 2 days to upload and process on youtube. I will probably continue making some more videos in the near future.
Didn't know what to call this one but I called it Midway because the ship battle was very much inspired by it.
Forgive me for any historical related problems, I'm no history nerd  ;D
Hope you like it, thanks to all the modders out there.

Clint

WOW indeed, Mr Watters. Cinematic feeling. Your music track choice recalls a Christopher Nolan scene: slowly building towards climax but never reaching the orgasm :P

Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

That is fantastic, would have to be the best IL2 video I've seen. And the choice of music really added to the tension.
Congratulations CW

Thank you ! Mixing ambient bowls with Hans Zimmer's track "The Oil" turned out to be a smooth enough transition. I'm glad it worked out.
Thanks again !

Yes I try to add the best effects available. There aren't that many, but the two most important ones are Gurner Fx and Bender's Clouds.
I really like his cloud mod they're the best imo.
Cheers !

Excellent work and some great camera angles (NG-CAM I assume).  Very nicely done.
I would suggest perhaps that including engine/MG sounds and excited/terrified radio chatter just 'behind' your dramatic music might actually enhance the overall effect.

Bravo.

This is incredible! One of the best IL-2 vids I have ever saw, such as the old Battle of Britain cup that I remembered.
