Hahahaha! I loved all of the replies.

I was very grateful for my flight leaders warning about that second 109, and also cringed when I watched the video of me pumping bullets into some poor souls virtual home.
Even funnier is fact that the video was meant to showcase my city terrain and object placement wip mod rather than my dog-fighting skills, and that I didn't expect to survive the encounter.
I had the enemy ai set to average and was myself surprised that I manage to survive. I usually have my arse handed to me in five seconds.
I have given this mission some thought, and I have developed a theory about enemy ai flight settings in the FMB that I still need to put into practice.
Most campaign or single mission flights consist of four aircraft. Enemy ai flights of four set to target your flight of four all seem to target the player, ignoring the rest of the flight, making for a frustrating and unpleasant experience.
What if fighter flights consisted of pairs instead of four aircraft, with only one pair setup in the Fmb to target your flight, and the other would target a second friendly ai flight? Hopefully you would have only two aircraft gunning for you which would be more manageable. I will probably give this a try in some of my favorite Bob missions.
In real life the Luftwaffe, and later the Raf flew in the 'finger four' position and split into pairs during combat, with the wingman covering his leader's six.
