Version 4.1.2 with no other mods. Trying to load the single mission BF_109_1.mis results in disaster every single time.

Looks like your mission (stock I presume) is not compatible. Most likely some loadout in that mission, your or AI.

I'd need a log.

It's what Vampire says.

In that mission the Bf 109s carry pods with 20mm cannons. At some point and for some reason, the nomenclature of that configuration of armament was changed and now it gives that problem.

The easy method to fix this is by opening the mission in Full Mission Builder and assigning that weapon configuration again to the three groups of aircraft on the axis (R:6 2x MG151 / 20 Gunpods). Save it and go

Forget about stock content. The Single Mission Community Pack Volume #1 includes corrected versions of all stock missions for BAT v4.X.

BAT Version 4.1.2 with no other mods, apart from Carsmasters water 4 & Il2GE
trying to run Lancaster missions from "1942 Tour of Duty by Hamm66"
but they crash out at Il2GE 3%. Are these missions not compatible with latest BAT?
I have a separate install of BAT 3.7, where they are working fine.
log available of course- if my error is not immediately obvious.

BAT 4.1.2, without Il2GE, just picked 'March 13' mission at random, apart from taking a relatively long time to load, no problems. Hope it might help to narrow your search.

that was helpful. I turned off Il2GE in BAT 4.1.2, and that mission worked - as you found.
Strange thing is: in my BAT 3.7, the same mission works with Il2GE turned on.
I guess BAT 3.7 has an earlier version of Il2GE. But would that matter?
