As Hafu1939 says, it's probably the 8-bit etc aspect.  You'll know your skin is 'good' when you compare it's file size to existing working files and they are the same.

I resort to an older graphics program to Save As an 8-bit .bmp file as I haven't figured out how to do it in my fancy Corel Photo Shop software.  I've tried saving .bmps in Corel numerous ways but never get the 8-bit version etc so use the older program.

Hi again,

I inspected your files, here are the results obtained with ImageMagick identify:
Code: [Select]
FA-18DRNZAFfictionalcamo.bmp BMP 2048x2048 2048x2048+0+0 8-bit sRGB 16.0001MiB 0.040u 0:00.040
FA-18DRNZAFfictionalcamo_index.bmp BMP3 2048x2048 2048x2048+0+0 8-bit sRGB 255c 4.00102MiB 0.010u 0:00.009

The first file is one of yours, the second file is the same after I indexed it. Please notice the dramatic difference in weight.
Your files seems 8bit, indeed, but they don't seem to be indexed.
Under GIMP, use Image → Mode → Indexed to obtain an indexed BMP.

Hope it helps.
