Hi blackshark, I'm not using reshade in the second picture. I'm using the graphic extender mod here, and the cliffs are a 3d cliff mod that I am working on to replace the present cliffs on the 352nd map. Get the graphic extender here:https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,58926.0.html

The previous post screenie uses the graphic extender 'il2ge'. I'm finding that il2ge runs smoother for me at high res than reshade, so I do prefer it, though I wish the brightness could be toned down, just a little bit, to eliminate overexposure on the horizon. :)

Same to me.. i use il2GE since 2020. But i use reshade to give more brigth to screen. My VC is a 1060 gtx. What is your nvidia desktop config?.... Graphic Extender is a future of il2. Your screenshot is so realistic. You have a lot of work to do, that map have hundreds towns 😉. Thx you for answer

I have picked up some shading issues on my large cliff and harbour models using the il2ge which only appear from the cockpit view and not from external views. This problem does not affect all aircraft and seems to have something to do with the canopy glass. With reshade everything looks ok.

Terrain screenshots using il2ge look great, though I don't use it in missions because of the over exposed effect on clouds and the horizon. I hope that Slibenli continues to develop it.

This is my config:






I won't be populating every town on the map with buildings, just those near airfields and some coastal areas. Placing general town objects goes quite quickly with a lot of copying and pasting. It's areas of historical interest like Dover and Southampton with their harbour placements that is time consuming.

This is the latest preset that I am using for reshade. The 13th mission of the Monty's 'Their finest hour' is featured here, with and without reshade. To use the preset copy and paste it to notepad and name the file 'ReShadePreset.ini'.

I love those ReShade presets, Rogeroger!  Thank you!  And just wanted you to know they work well with DirectX, which is what I'm using in a Windows 10 virtual machine with Parallels Desktop 17, since Open GL on MacBook Pros doesn't support IL2 GE.
I'd been using Heroflex's preset posted at the ReShade website (IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 C.U.P) but have switched to this one because of the brilliant blue skies and clouds. 
If you've done any further modifications please let us know so I can update my ReShade settings.

I haven't used reshade for a while now but I have changed my settings since then. I will use my latest reshade setting today to see how much they differ from those June settings, and will post them here if they are noticeably different.
