I've been sticking with the following settings in ReShade for now:

Techniques=FXAA@FXAA.fx,AdaptiveSharpen@AdaptiveSharpen.fx,Colourfulness@Colourfulness.fx,HDR@FakeHDR.fx,LevelsPlus@LevelsPlus.fx

I've never been a big fan of Technicolor and would prefer to keep the number of techniques to a minimum.  But for those of us who are restricted to running the game in DirectX mode, meaning IL2 Graphics Extender is off-limits, ReShade provides an outstanding visual experience.  FXAA alone makes a big difference when you don't have the ability to select graphics options outside of the game's limited setup configuration (I don't have the luxury of a Radeon or Nvidia Control Panel).

Those two shaders were experimental. I think very subtle effects adjustments are probably  the best and you are using a good mix of shaders.  I have tried to imitate the il2ge, but reshade is too limited for that. I have gone back to just the plain old stock il2 when I'm not using the il2ge as I find the latest reshade  versions can affect the fps depending on the effects you use.

I was doing some terrain editing and using this 109 to check out the terrain and was taken aback by how good this 109 skin is. I've used this 109 in the past for this, but only now on close inspection I am really enjoying the quality of this skin. Maybe it's something in the local water today. ;D

Nice work with experimenting with Re-Shade... without doubt it gives IL-2 a boost in shading as well as enhancing details.

Levels is the most important setting for me as it adds a bit of contrast to the cockpit and enhances the shadows.

Thanks Roger for sharing your options for Re-Shade, I'll give it a go to see if it makes a difference... if you want it to look like old film I recommend Sepia, it's what I used for the screenshot for my Hurricane Mk.I skinpack I released a couple of years ago.

It certainly does make the difference where shadows and detail is concerned, but what else would you suggest to experiment with?
