I have been creating some missions lately using the in-game full editor and for the most part it's all going well. However when I use channel maps  (seasonal varieties) by CanonUK/tbauchot I cannot place vehicles on an airfield (or close to one) and then set waypoints for them to move. I can place them away from an airfield but not on or near one ?! If I load other maps then it works fine, so it seems to be an issue with these particular maps. I can place everything else on them such as sound effects, player controlled aircraft, static items etc, it's just vehicles that move with waypoints. I am confused as to why it works away from an airfield. Hope someone can help, thanks.

I'm doing this running the game in the jetage mod launched from IL selector. Forgive me if that's not enough info I am trying to learn all about modding IL2 and it's a lot to take in!

I think I came across this when I was creating some missions a long time ago.  I think the simple reason is the way the airfield has been created on the map.  There's a similar issue when placing ships too close to shore.

I think there's a workaround but damned if I can remember it so hopefully one of the experts will point it out.

Thanks for the reply, good to know it’s not just me then! Yep, the ship issue you mention is something I discovered just now.

It would be great to find a workaround as all the missions I want to create use these maps and not having moving vehicles (and the ship issue) kind of spoils what I am trying to achieve.

I have done this before but only to create routes for DCG files; I never looked to see how they would look when moving. Any way, this might be worth a try. I warn you however that it is a tedious process. There might be a better way.

Use an empty map, and place your vehicle on the map with a couple waypoints. Then create the route using Front Markers.

Now, load the mission into a text editor and use the Front marker waypoints to do your vehicle route:

The easier way is to create a flight path of an aircraft along the route one wishes the vehicle or ship to travel. Then  just replace  the vehicle/ship way points  with those of the aircraft. Some adjustments  to the last number of the waypiont  has to be made as this is the objects speed
