help adding new map procedure
« on: May 29, 2021, 03:58:47 AM »

Hi guys
first of all, i would like to say heartfelt thanks to the bat developers
I would like to insert my modified maps (working well in dbw) in bat 4.1.3 but I can't really start the sim following the traditional method in the mapmod folder of the single eras. could someone point me to the correct procedure in bat.
there is a way to read the added textures and maps that are not already inserted in an sfs file,
thanks in advance and sorry if for some the question might be silly

If you are used to installing maps the procedure is straightforward. In each BAT era (WW3 etc) you find a MAPMODS folder. Install map and textures as you always have and your added map should overwrite the one enshrined in the sfs files (IIRC). Obviously, if you want the map in more than one era you need to repeat the process for each era you want.

As an example, I have a modded version of agracier's Dodecanese map installed. I have it as a jgsme switchable option, and thus the path is as follows:

BATMODS/Dodecanese( you can name this anything)/DOF3 (and WAW3,JTW3,TGA3 - four folders in total)/MAPMODS/Maps/ag-Dodecanese.

The last folder contains my amended map files (actors.static, load.ini, texts, labels).

Hope this helps.
