Fortresses & Hudsons of RAF/CC + Mod v.3.3
« on: June 28, 2021, 02:34:18 AM »

No long Bla-Bla straight to topic, I'm no Bomber Guy.
While skinning I found our B-17F inventory is a bit lame.
Research, there's plenty of good stuff missing, heck what?

This is the outcome of my tinkering. Still WIP, as long as I haven't included all
necessary Loadouts.

- 5 new Slots representing historical Fortresses, 4 new Slots with ASV Radar (both incl. extended Loadout Upgrades) based on Barnesey 3-D**
- 1 Standalone Loadout Mod for our BAT stock B-17F, nothing fancy (incl. Loadout Upgrades)*#
- 1 Skinpack on top. Lot of stuff.*#

3 new Hudson ASV Slots

* standalone version (stock BAT)
# compatible with Barnesey 3-D Standalone
** further Mods needed

*Place Holder for Funny Picture (WIP)*

WIP is for reason,
Another thing that worries me is the fact of the Loadouts of our Fortresses.
When I have the Skins ready, I'm taking over the attempt to bypass them better US/UK Loadouts.
A small Weapons Mod, Loadout additions.

What brings the best Subhunting Skin, when no Depthcharges are at hand.

Okay, first testing of Payload upgrades commenced, old payloads kept,
the new version will include ETO reduced payload (as historical) and the
stock-like overload values, i.e. stock overload +8000 lb, reduced and widely used 6000 lb,
but also more Payloads such as 4000 lb or others...

The wider selection, enables precise planning, optimum Loadout and fuel balance.

That's it for the moment Gentlemen, back to work.

Cheers

A Testslot for the shortrange historical near Maximum Overload, here we reached 16.000lbs of ~17.600lb possible.
Some of these max. Overloads was used with external Racks carrying heavy payloads i.e. against
German Industry with success.

absolute maxed out Payload i.e. was 6x1600 lb + 2 x 4000 lb reaching exactly 17.600 lb.

Needs looooong Runways, flyable,

Tobias Hi!
The Torpedoes and Gliding torpedo pack includes the historical wing pylons for the B-17:
Look for PylonGT in java and meshes

Hi DreamK,

will use PylonB17F inside BAT, looks definitely like original in that diagram above. I'm happy with that, dunno where it came from, Kudos to creator.
By the way just the previous Loadout upgrade is worth the deal, I could use up most of your US WW2 Ordonanance.

With the new external racks Slot, finally I had the chance to include your nasty LC 4000lb. I'm happy.

Finnished the row of proposed hangings on those racks, incl. SAP, GP, AP, and Mine variants from B-17 Data Sheets.
I have read the british used them up for their Depth Charges on these GR IIA or GR II of Coastal Command too, on occassion.

Coastal Command Fortress Slot with ASV Radar
I can propose a solitary british Fortress Mk.II (B-17F) with radar coming our Way.
Difference to the Loadout presentation B-17Fa, having ASV Radar and a flock of arrays,
both can be used up side by side, since the Radar wasn't installed all the time.
Not all had Radars added. So that makes for 2 more new Slots.
Building is in early stages. 3-D is 98% complete, now I need the placement of 3 tiny Arrays
to finish this project. Still fighting my 3ds troubles, uhhhh....
Will keep you updated on this.

Skins, i showeled a level of eyecandyness on the Template,
top Fuselage now clean and Paint edges gone. Serials have found
proper placement. Now the wheathering and before mentioned Fixes will be
applied to all or individually treaten, than the first part is ready to go off.

Have a nice Day Gentlemen

shadows are there, the actual Nose Array was not centered, but left-up off center.

early Radar
later radar
no radar used

For the early I need to recreate the symetrical lower Nose Arrays, the Tailfin and Fuselage Arrays we have
from Liberator GR.I, they can be altered to fit fortress. No promise, when I succeed the 3-D, I'll do the early as well.

Coastal Commands Fortress Mk.II (F) ASV Java, 3-D ready,
bit polishing, then will pollute your Installs together with the non Radar Version.

B-17F will be subtituted a decent Loadout Upgrade, that version uses just a cod file,
on stock BAT B-17F.

First we'll Test this Beta, in the meanwhile I'll take a Weekend nip, I got faster than expected.
Publishing will be together with the Skinpack, still some things to do there.
Less than 2 weeks. Say 1, enjoy

Thanks Cradburry and Urmel  :)

Happy weekend Gentlemen
