ISO Containers on trailers (Articulated Vehicles)
« on: February 13, 2022, 04:44:24 AM »

Hello to all. :)                                                  post edited 10-07-22
Continuation of the topic started here:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,57528.msg635672.html#msg635672
I tried to diversify (added a Fiat truck and removed the sides from the trailer) the existing equipment for transporting ISO containers.

Many thanks to Mission Bug for the slot and classes! ]salut[

Tested in 4122m + SASModakt 5.33 + Engine mod 2.7 etc.

These are really nice, bison, thanks. We can always use more civilian vehicles, especially in the JTW era.

Unfortunately, there is very little equipment from the time of the Vietnam War

Try making a request here:

The ISOs are on USB Devices inside the trailers?

Yes, ISOs on USB devices, but not inside the trailers, but at the drivers.
Try it:
mount /dir/image.iso -o loop /mnt/cdrom

Best wishes

Not strictly Vietnam-era, but there are some very nice modern armoured cars/APCs here:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,64904.0.html

They tend to be hidden away a bit as the thread has many varied aircraft/vehicles. Take a look around pages 7-9.

Hello Alex, I had a little time last night so put together a slot for the articulated vehicles. ;)

Unfortunately Mediafire is again being a pain and I cannot upload beyond 14%. o_O

If you can think of another way for me to get this to you then please let me know in PM.

I did not try the pack as you uploaded it, just used the folders and re-named things, some of
the textures would not load so I eventually just added all those from your texture folder to
each summer folder and made their particular mat files read from there.

The set was tried in a ModAct 5.30 I have for testing so the actual packs you borrowed parts
from were not there and all seems to work for me. :o

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Hello guys, I have been tinkering a little with the Fiats of this pack as I did not really think the boxes
were appropriate at the rear so things were adjusted slightly. ;)

https://www.mediafire.com/file/udh83xguchur87j/Alterations+to+the+articulated+vehicles+Fiats.7z/file

I was up a little late one morning so to pass the time until dinner I had a tinker, I removed some parts of the rear and was going to add a fifth wheel of my own, however, Alex had already covered that so I just altered the Body and Duster meshes a little.  The boxes and some of the frame was removed from the body and the Duster was altered by taking some of the raised frame off and blocking the holes then moving the rear section closer to the mudguards:

The alterations were done for both Fiat tractor units and the paint scheme was altered more in keeping with the trailers by using a colour adjustment tool
in Photoshop, this worked okay for the blue but for some reason I was not able to get a light grey:

The number plate also has a altered digit so they are two different units, I changed a 6 for a 3 I think although I have no knowledge of the actual sequence
for these vehicles I felt it was better visually if looking at both units together.

The damage model also had the same alterations but the 'Duster' mesh was not needed here as the rear mudguards were already in place.  I could have added the lights and number plate but decided not to, the chassis also could have been shortened and the exhaust on the live and dead models but again I thought it was not necessary:

I added a extra line to the technics file so this will work, up to you guys whether you prefer just the blackened vehicle as set by Alex but if you want this
to show add the line I added in the download:

Always make a copy of your existing mod then just copy and paste the folder in the download and allow to over write and add the extra entries, if you have renamed the folder in your install then you can just copy the 3do folder and technics file in the download and again allow to over write.

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
