No Ammo!

So, I'm doing my usual, trying to drop torpedoes and hit something when I noticed none of my guns have more than one round before they're out of ammo, and I've never seen this before. What is happening??

I had the same problem after installing this mod (highlighted in red)
From cannons and rifles one bullet was flying out. After uninstalling it , everything was ok.
I want to point out that this is version 1.4 and it is about this one file. The rest in my B.A.T works fine.

Which game version are you running?

If indeed the conflict originates with my BigshipGeneric.class, are you using the correct one? There are three versions:

- 4.12 modact (without Engine Mod installed)
- B.A.T. up to 4.1.1 (should be OK for 4.12 with Engine Mod installed)
- B.A.T 4.1.2+

If there is some error I've introduced, I would expect to have seen a number of other reports of a problem as bad as no ammo cropping up.

I am using B.A.T v4.2.1+. I don't collect or get into bug reports because they don't tell me anything, I know nothing about it.
I focus on aircraft types, painting, historical aspects, where and why they were used, and the course of air battles. I am trying to achieve with B.A.T all the piloting possibilities that this game gives. As you know I make some videos there.
 Boy had a problem the same as me, I posted what helped me. Whether it helps or not, I don't know.
You are doing a good and difficult but great job Glenn. As someone quoted here: "he who does nothing is not wrong".
In my B.A.T installation this was the problem, in others it may be ok.

I am "BAT 4.1.3".
I'm using WxTech's Effects Pack v1.4 for B.A.T and 4.12
There are no errors.

Hi Glenn,

I'm afraid I can confirm the 'no ammo' error in  B.A.T v4.2.1+. Ammo is loaded, shows in the info screen (i.e. 'Tab'), but as soon as you pull the trigger one round fires and that's it - out of ammo. Applies to both MG and/or cannon.

Mine is fine, BAT 4.2.1 with hotfix 03. No Issues with ammo, yet!

Thanks for the log output. Here are the two key problems:

INTERNAL ERROR: Can't open file 'Effects/Smokes/SmokeBlack_BuletteTrail2Low.eff'

INTERNAL ERROR: Can't open file '3DO/Effects/Tracers/TrailCurvedHeavy.eff'

When you see an effect file as being unable to open, that tells us that the class invoking it is not finding it where expected. Can you check this out? And if these effect files are where expected, for completness' sake look also for the related .mat and .tga files.

These and their related files (the .mat and the .tga) have not been altered for this version. Nor has the Tracer Mod that calls them. I checked in my upload archive, and all relevant files are present. 'Tis a bit of a head-scratcher...

Well, who would ever have thought it - a simple end user installation error!

Relax, Glenn, your work is fine. It was a matter of folder hierarchy. I always add all mods via jgsme, and simply had one parent folder too many in that install package, so the various effects folders were not loading directly into the correct mods folder, #WAW3 etc. Doh!

I hate it when I start a topic, then leave the state, and then forget to check in. Yep, I have BAT 4.12+, and Glenn I appreciate all the work you've put into this, and will report back once I get it figured out.

It all works fine as long as the mod is put in SAS and not WAW like I did.
