Unstable editor play
« on: March 19, 2022, 12:36:24 AM »

Hi guys

My editor's "play" function seems to act up whenever testing a map. Although the spawn points (i.e. player checked), starting conditions, waypoints are all correct I seem to be spawning in different places on airfields, I just drop dead out of the sky near the spawn location and on water my plane randomly begins bounching higher and higher until it ultimately crashes or just keeps bounching.. Anyone else ever encountered this?

All thoughts welcome 🤔

Hi!
It's not the editor, it's most probably the weapons loadout. Something is messed up in your weapons or plane ini-files or has been updated. Choose another weapons configuration for your birds. This could be any plane in the mission. This often happens, when you copy and paste or alter mission files via notepad. The weapons stated in the origin mis file might work fine in the install it was designed in, but simply an update - for example from BAT 4.0 to BAT 4.2 might bring a new weapons layout for one or more of the planes and then you are going to crash. Simply use one of the layouts the FMB is offering for each flight.
This is the price for historical correctness  8)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I haven't done anything with weapon loadouts. They're always just on default and I haven't imported anything into the game. I only ever used the editor flying seaplanes, which always jumped up and down violently in "play" mode. Only since recent I've started building using airfields with above results for the player plane. Just wondering if its normal or just my setup that random things happen to the player's plane.

Hi!

The "default" might have been changed, too. That's what happend to me. Simply give it a try.
Furthermore you can post your intended mission here (simply copy and paste the mis file and don't forget to use the code (#) option) so we can see, wether we can reproduce the outcome. BTW, is your BAT up to date?
