Wxtech, like every artist, is a bit distracted. There is a bad file structure in the original package and some bad entries in the file: load.ini. I've already forgotten what, so I'm giving you a complete, revised and working version of the map.

WxTech has already improved its version of the mod, which is available in the first post. My amendment thus loses its raison d'être.

Also requires a mod for this map:

Thanks, Kelso, I was unable to run the map initially, your adjustments have sorted it. Nice map, Glenn.

;D   Bravo Kelso! You solved the map display problem. Given that I am an absolute admirer of WxTech's works, I was very demoralized, the NBNG map created unsustainable frame falls that ended up blocking the game, so in the end I had to delete it, this New Georgia map was no way to display it too following the changes proposed by WxTech .. and I had also opted for this, with great regret, for the cancellation. But then thanks to your intervention it was activated by replacing the Agracier original!
Nice map and good edits, just one tip, I like the semi transparent textures of the grassy tracks but they require a lot more attention on the seams otherwise they have the opposite effect, they become absolutely unrealistic.

NOTE, Updated April 15, 2022: It turns out that upon release on Apr 12 I had botched the folder structure, which caused headaches for a number of folk. Please accept my humblest apologies!

With a number of mod projects going on simultaneously, I guess my poor brain has got a bit scrambled.  ;)

Thanks to Kelso for intervening before I had a chance to realize my screw-up. I've updated my archive appropriately, basically copying his layout. I have edited the readme file accordingly.

I also include the rotated Moon texture set for latitude 10 degrees, as Kelso did. A good idea and wise practice, so as to not require the user to look about elsewhere for needed resources. If you already have this Moon_10 folder of rotated Moon textures, you can delete this folder here.

To Kelso,
I have essentially replicated your fix, including the base folder name. I'll leave it up to you to decide on how you want to handle your d/l link.  ;)

I don't really understand ... Should I delete a link?

I'm happy Kelso jumped in to assist. It's great having other good brains hanging about to make up for us dolts!  ;)

I have updated my archive accordingly.

I'm curious to know what caused your poor performance with the NGNB map. Does your game have it already, and if so, is it behaving nicely?

About the grass strips. Indeed, when transparency is employed any overlapping due to imprecise alignment will introduce the horrible discontinuities of doubled opacity. The way out is:

- Re-build the airfields via the unlocked FMB, or
- alter the relevant .mat file parameters for the plate textures.

The disadvantage of full opacity for these textures is the flickering between the two textures wherever they overlap, due to having the identical height above the underlying terrain texture, the game engine alternating between one and the other for primacy.

OK, if you insist on delegating authority  :D  , I will suggest for avoidance of confusion that you delete your link. You could put in a note indicating that my own update supplants it, now that I've finally awakened to my silly error.

Thanks again for your effort in helping out!

I'm currently working on a forested version. I plan to utilize forest side objects near airfields, so that the infamous 'disappearing' layered forests as seen from near ground level are not an issue during taxying, take-off and landing, and to look better as well, of course.  ;)

The forest cover is added, and the many instances of 'bleed over' into water are fixed.

For Munda and Seghi fields, the edge of the forest in the vicinity has been given a jungle forest side line of textures that make up for the invisibility when seen edge on from ground level. It's very effective!

I've looked into Vila field (on Kolombangara Island), and plan to model it based on photos. I might add the lower portion of the Vila River, which partially wraps around the field. And the coconut palm plantation the strip was built within will be modeled.
