Thank you kindly for your comments to an old post. However, I had to intervene. As interesting as the document is, I'm in the opinion that some of the scenes are in fact colorized, which kind of draws the carpet from my original intentions. I noticed this too late and many times I have considered to delete this post, but it just didn't happen. However, let's keep it as an example of a very pressing issue of the present-day social media.
Personally, I do not wholeheartedly approve this kind of colorization, as IMO it distorts history for the generations yet to come. I think it could even be considered as a form of fraud, if these images or live pictures are not properly announced as colorized. Sadly, a growing number of these anonymous colorized WWII photos, film-docs; plus, in general, Ai generated images, images refurbished with Ai and other deepfake garbage with little or no information of their origins, are everywhere these days. This has led me, for example, to not press any like buttons for any kind of images in the web, whether I liked them or not, since I cannot verify if they were completely authentic.
Sign of our times, I'm afraid, but this is how I see it. I don't know how much is being observed of this unpleasant phenomenon in overall, but not too much I suspect - and certainly not enough.
However, having said this, I wish you all a very happy 2025 with lots of good things heading your way, and also, Happy Flying,
