Did you move your IL2 folder out of the steamapps\common folder? (Having IL2 in either "Program Files" folder or "Program Files (x86)" can cause problems.

I haven't tried that, so I'll try that. I don't have that computer on me right now

Turning off DEP fixed the issue, but now the game is running in Fullscreen, causing a massive border. Setting Fullscreen to 0 doesn't do anything

My problem has been solved. I screwed with DEP settings, breaking the game.

I got the same problem with an Intel system and it's driving me nuts trying to figure it out. Everything I have tried is a deadend

Problem solved after a lot of hair loss. For some reason my computers DEP was set to "All windows programs and  apps" not DEP to essential Windows Programs and Services only
