 :-|   It is not clear to me ... do we overwrite the first plane folder with the second simply or do we delete all the previous airplanes and the textures folder and then insert the second folder?

Delete all the previous airplanes and the textures folder - ALL !

I'll release ETO pilots soon

This mod looks very nice, however I can't make it work.

I'm using the most current BAT.

I'm attempting a mission using the F4U-1A.

The Mod is:
Activated through JSGME.
I've double-checked the folder structures.
I've put the 4096 dll into the root of IL2.
It is the first mod listed in #WAW3 folder.

The game loads, the mission loads, but the aircraft is not available to view.
Upon launching the mission the screen shows water and the game is over.

I've looked at other aircraft objects with the viewer and many are not viewable.

Here is a piece of the log:

INTERNAL ERROR: Can't open file '3DO/Plane/F4U-1A(USA)/Enginex_D0.msh'
WARNING: object '3DO/Plane/F4U-1A(USA)/Enginex_D0.msh' of class 'SkinTL' not loaded
INTERNAL ERROR: MeshObj: Can't load mesh 3DO/Plane/F4U-1A(USA)/Enginex_D0.msh
WARNING: object '3DO/Plane/F4U-1A(USA)/hier.him' of class 'HIM' not loaded
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMeshObj: Can't load HIM 3DO/Plane/F4U-1A(USA)/hier.him
INTERNAL ERROR: HierMeshObj: Can't load HIM 3DO/Plane/F4U-1A(USA)/hier.him

java.lang.RuntimeException: INTERNAL ERROR: HierMeshObj: Can't load HIM 3DO/Plane/F4U-1A(USA)/hier.him

Suggestions are welcomed!

Thanks in advance, Pied

Ranwers' new pilots are often not BAT compatible. This is due to the simple fact that Ranwers and BAT use different versions of a given mod. You can't help it.

The matter is probably simple here. The airplane mod is listed in front of the pilots modem. Rename the pilots mod so that it's the opposite - the pilots mod MUST be higher in the mod list.

... and that will not work mostly either!
as already stated, the Pilot mods from Ranwers needs some work to make them compatible with BAT, mostly corresponding edits in hier.him

I didn't have time to check them yet, but putting the new pilots before any aircraft mods won't help...

There is no other option but to find your hier for each plane and copy the sections from my hier.
Add yours hiers in to pilot mod.

that should usually do the trick, the tricky part is to find the hier.him files for the planes...

ok, just came back from a session with one set of pilots from this mod - the F2A2;
I needed quite a lot of reworking done to get the new pilot to show up in my modded F2A2 and I ended up with an FAA style pilot in a US plane;
(this might come from the fact that I noticed the usage of a few FAA themed tga files in the msh files, nothing another session of experimenting with the different textures might not cure - but to be honest, I do not want to invest much time in that)

I wont go into the details here as I worked on a modded F2A-2, not the stock BAT one but the reworking can be done rather quickly, if one has the necessary hier.him files to start working...
it just takes a little editing, checking and experimenting work as not all necessary files are in the respective folders;
for example, the F2A2 folder was missing stuff like the stick_f4u5 and some others; alternatively, just add the pilots without the optional addons of Belts, EquipmentD0 and Stick;

so if there is someone willing to take up the task and make this set BAT compatible, it can be done and it is not overly complicated;
I just dont have the time and motivation to do it now, maybe I look into the Corsairs as these are my fav warbirds; but no promises here...
