« on: September 15, 2022, 07:07:26 AM »

the BF-110 in BAT is the only plane that seems to have correct values for Revi reticle, once i find the 3do cockpit names of me262s i will tweak them as well

Updated: 16/09/2022, applied to additional versions, removed custom textures and useless folders

When altering a reticle, if you are selecting a different texture do check that it has the same proportions. If different, the Z_Z_RETICLE.msh would require to have its dimensions altered accordingly.

For instance, suppose both reticle textures are 512 pixels in size. The 100 mil circle in the original is 300 pixels in diameter, while the replacement has a 250 pixel diameter circle. The mesh would require the values setting the physical size of the texture out in front of the plane to be increased by factor 300/250.

I too find the super bright texture to have a too-opaque appearance. Indeed, whenever I cook up a cockpit mod I tend to replace the reticle to one of my liking. For more than a decade I've been tweaking reticles, and my tastes have evolved during that time.  ;)

i will keep that in mind as i didnt change the texture resolutions, the reason why i have included different textures is because i dont know the texture names used inside reticle.mat i tried ReviReticle.tga, reticle.tga, FW190reticle.tga the game just dont load the plane, same thing for cockipt names i dont know where you guys are getting them from  lol everything seems to be hiding behind those sfs files.  ;D

as for the reticle themselves i totally agree, they need transparency and slightly more blur, all of them. i tried adding some AlphaTestVal which i assume thats the one for it, but it started to look wierd at high fov with some flickering effect.

Are you using the current Il-2 Selector executable (in BAT)? If so, when run (by double-clicking the Selector.exe file) you should see a check box for dump mode. Choose that, then run the game through the Selector. For any plane you wish to get the resources, jump in for a quick flight. When you quit the game (and uncheck the Selector's dump mode box, if you don't want the next session to keep dumping resources), in the main game folder will be a folder called dump. All resources loaded will be found there. A real treasure for modders!
