It is not a request but just an idea that I launch. WXTECH was very kind and showed me how to modify the Ranwers pilots mod to fit my BAT 4.2 installation.
The high quality of the Ranwers pilots makes the deck crew look like a bunch of puppets now. I thought that the same method that served to adjust the pilots would serve to introduce the base personnel mod on the carrier deck. The idea worked only half but I leave it in case someone more prepared can take it further.

It sounds good in theory however in practice there is a limit on the amount of detailed models the game engine can accommodate at any point. Too many high poly models and super detailed textures will cause the game to  not render them , freeze or CTD. As long as you are careful it might be possible but this old game engine will struggle to give the level of detail you seem to be requesting. This has been tried before and the issues are well known.

There is a deck-crew pack made by Barnesy with a good detail level.

I wonder why I bother to respond to these posts … these models ( like all of his efforts) are high poly with excessive textures … personally I can not recommend them … but whatever …

I'm glad you said it GJ, and I have to agree.  People always seem to think more is better and chucking everything at IL-2 or any other old sim is ok.  As you say and it's the same for CFS2/3 et al, there is only so much the very old game engines can handle (Capt'n!), before probs occur.

Ok bad idea. Good and kind explanation.
Some things that came later are left over . In fact my solution was to remove all the deck personnel except for the crew on the island since they are never in the foreground and produce a very good effect. Less is more.
