Hi,
Mindoro is complete retextured and i am now working on Palawan Island where almost the Half is done.
The next Islands are then Panay, Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Leyte and finally Samar.

Vulcan Mayon with new Textures (BAT)

From left to right (McGuire, Hill, Ellmore, old San Jose and Murtha Airfield. I have added also two Rivers to this Area.
The old San Jose (Grass Runway) was a Prewar Airfield and used by the Japanese.
After the Invasion of Mindoro on December 15th 1944 built the US the other Airfields in this Area and were fully operational by early 1945. (BAT)

Did you use a new, more correct terrain elevation map?

Hi,
All is so far retextured except Leyte and Samar Island!
When i am done with retexturing, I want to rework the positions of the objects at all locations or to add some new ones.

Iloilo City with southern Airstrip and Fort San Pedro nearby on Panay Island (BAT)

Vulcan Canlaon on Negro Island (VP)

Cebu Harbor (VP)

Tagbilaran Airstrip on Bohol Island (DBW)

Yeah, this is really impressive.  I definitely need to make a map template in the new version of UQMG I am pre-Alpha testing.

In reply #76 are four screen caps.

In the second we see the banded forest/open ground feature surrounding the volcano. This is an artifact of the assignment of terrain textures based solely on the elevation in map_h. This should be addressed.

In the fourth I note that the ForestFar texture is much lighter in tone than the forest textures representing the layered forest at nearer distance. One artifact of this is the darker, thin, zig-zagging line of the forest edge in the middle-far distance (seen clearly in the upper left corner of the image). The ForestFar texture should have a tonal value closer to the layered forest textures, so that the transition between the two is not jarring, and that the forest edge line not be seen within the range of intermediate-far distance at which it appears.

Hi all,
I have uploaded a Testversion of this map! Link is in the first post!

A few words about this map in its current state:
The 2D maps are still from the first version and not aligned to the actual changes i have made in map_c.
Objects around airfields and villages are still missing. (palm trees/houses etc.)
I neglected Borneo a bit in terms of texture and only included places from that time that were important in my view!
I will provide an update on the texturing of the flat land in Borneo at a later date.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me or given me advice about this map over the last six months.
Have a fun testing time!
