BV.138 modifed
« on: December 02, 2022, 06:43:01 AM »

To adapt cockpits to this mod, I had to slightly modify the original model, which was created by Dimon and other moders. I also brought the name of the versions to more suitable according to historical data.

It was difficult to replace the existing versions of BV.138 in BAT, so this mod is installed in parallel, all intersections with existing data are excluded.

The search radar message output is turned on and off by the Misc 10 button.

The appearance of cockpits and their equipment is semi-historical, this is an attempt to create cockpits from photos of the prototype. Maybe not everything worked out at a good level of quality, but I hope it will bring a little variety.

HD dll is required for correct operation.

;D  Asura, excellent work!  But in the folder "plane" the folder "summer" is missing, perhaps this prevents the game from reading the alternative skins...?

Nice. tested in 4.2.2 and over woodlark islands scenery; heavy lagging except around the ocean or water. also got the paratrooper mission loading error which i fixed;changed config to 2 based on this article:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=17194.0

Will run some more tets unless there is a way to make the scrolling in cockpit and out smoother without lagg.

Flew over south vietnam in bat 4.2.2 and little better but still lagg here and there in pit and on the outside. Also, where is the link to the hd dll files? or does BAT 4.2.2 already have it?

:(   Let me explain, it would be nice to equip this beautiful model with alternative skins, but the game does not read either the 1Mb skins or the 12Mb skins, I have created a 'summer' folder but the skins in the 'Skins' folder are not read.
Can something be done in your opinion?

Yes, Stan, I did various tests with "summer", this san effect. In BV-138C1 you can use different skins. In this 3D, no, so far.

I don't have time to follow all mods options. BV.138 is now done on the original version from Dimon, it did not use skins. I saw the C1 version with skins, but it's too late... Fit cockpits to the version with skins is to repeat 40% of the work done... Alas... Not now.

Perhaps someday there will be another circle when I will change the already done... But now there is so much new that I want to do... Where's my uncle billionaire? ;D

Confirmed, the game does not read either 1Mb or 12Mb skins, not even 64Mb skins.

I confirm: each of plane's mesches are mapped for a couple of mat-to-tga's such as UPPER.tga for upper wing surface as an exemple.

The normal mapping relation for  a  WingLIn_D0.msh
Code: [Select]
[Materials]           leads to mat with    [Layer0]                    which  in turn leads to tga:      magenta-codded.
Gloss1D0o                                  TextureName skin1o.tga
instead mapping here for WingLIn_D0.msh is
Code: [Select]
[Materials]           leads to mat with    [Layer0]                    which  in turn leads to       upper.tga.
Upper1                                     TextureName upper.tga
Donner                or to mat with       [Layer0]                    which  in turn leads to       donner.tga.
                                           TextureName donner.tga
...means a separate upper wing picture and a seperate underwing picture where this wing's msh-mapping gets it's info from.
Pretty much a "Camel" situation.
