If there one one part of IL-2's stock effects that I have always hated with a burning passion, it is the awkward looking lines produced by a piston engine when its mixture setting is too high for its altitude.



A subtle dark smoke using particle effects would look much better:

I make no claim of making anything new; I simply made this for myself a few days ago, and figured it would be a nice idea to make it publicly available.

And I'm not casting aspersions; just pointing out how the wheel can be effectively reinvented. I find myself occasionally discovering that some brain wave that flashes forth in my noggin will already have been had by someone else.
