Map Position in HSFX 7.0.3History mod
« on: May 04, 2023, 08:21:46 AM »

Hello There

So i'm playing a b17 mod campaign (big bird) with HSFX 7.0.3 and would like to know if/how i can change to position of my map (preferably so it appears in the top right corner) ?

I play with th following resolution in conf.ini:

width=2560
height=1440

I tried this mod: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1472.0.html (Ercan-Wide 2) but it wouldn't work.

To move the mini-map, click on it with both mouse buttons simultaneously and drag it where you like.

The mod that you try to use is for 4.09 (not 4.12) and is ment to provide widescreen support for 4.09 that originally was conceived for 4/3 monitors. This mod is useless in 4.12 that is the first version with built in widescreen support.

In addition to WXTech suggestion you can find different miniMap mods the most complete working in 4.12 is NG-MAP V3.2 https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=59835.0

DaRockWilder1988;

You might want to check out the NG-HUD mod also as IIRC it has a built-in bombsight angle calculator which makes manual bombing easier.  i.e. based on your altitude and speed it will display the approx angle your bombsight should be so that when your crosshairs hit your aimpoint you can drop your bombs as quickly (small target) or as slowly (large target) as you want.  Otherwise your automated bombsight, while effective when used properly, will salvo all your bombs at once regardless of the size of your target.  This is all predicated on you remembering to open your bomb-bay doors!!  LOL (and, yes, I've been that guy, cursing and swearing over a perfect bomb run only to forget to open the bomb doors LOL)

@tomoose Thanks for this, installed and looks amazing. But is there also something that lets me set the bomb-release-delay/timer when using automated bomb sight? i want to use automatic bomb sight, but i usually don't want all my bombs to drop at the same time. Any suggestion for this / mod i need?

DaRockWilder1988;
I'm not aware of a mod (except maybe BAT) that will allow you to 'customize' how the auto-release works (i.e. adjust the release timing but still have the auto-sight do the work on bombs-away).  That's why there's the manual release option.

I believe it's possible in 4.13 versions (and later) of the game but they are outside of the support provided here as those versions (i.e. TD) essentially told this modding community to take a hike.
That said, there could be a mod for 4.12/HSFX et al and I just haven't seen it.  I'm sure if there is, someone will post here.
