As an addition to the line of "trainers" I want to introduce you Shenyang (Chengdu) JJ-5 (FT-5).

I found a slot that is used for MiG-15 bis (late) and which is not used in modern Jet era (1.33-1.5) setups. Therefore, as a temporary solution to the missing slot issue, you can try using this (link update):

Installation method - unpack the archive into your mods folder and make an entry in air.ini:

Accordingly, the folder for skins will be FT-5.

Hello Alex, working for me in my 4.12 main install, thank you very much, really appreciated.

From what I could see in my install I did not have the type used as the base so opened up the class file to get the air entry, I see you already posted it after I downloaded but I used this:

Mig_15bislate      air.Mig_15bislate 1            NOINFO       r01     SUMMER

I did think of doing a slot but as usual I ended up with error messages everywhere as it seems to need a Mig-17F, where is that exactly, is it the JetWar version?

This is why I leave jet slots for others, I really should learn java properly instead of just tinkering, I thought I might be able to do a straight rename to make a dedicated slot and cockpit but it seems to need that class I mentioned, alas never so easy as it might seem, I must be short of various
dependencies in my eclipse set up but where to find them.

Guess for a slot it will need to wait for another modder.

Have posted some additional skins for the FT-5, see the USSR skins folder.  Thought that was the best place as the FT-5 is a derivative of a Russian design.

Hi!

Great work and very useful plane!

In a far , far , far , campaign project I plan to build a fictional campaign where a western block backed nation is fighting against a similar backed by Eastern block....both are poor and so they 'll develop their air forces from old planes and update them with dual purpose trainer/attack aircraft....

Anyway....

I installed this one in my BAT 4.2.2 and got it working flawless....also wheels sinking is less noticeable than the screenshoot above....

Just wondering if in the development of this plane can be thinked about a reduced MiG-17PF weapon set....maybe only 2 rocket launchers or AAMs due added weight for the second cockit....

In the meantime my greatest thanks for this addition!
