loading any mission with Yermolayev Yer-2 causes the screen to go like this. could this be HD dll incompatibility or is it something else ?

Very probably yes.
Try other version (BATDOCS folder).

i fixed the issue, its a mod conflict and i have found the culprit. its "00_DaveB_Flyby+Engine Effects" yet the issue only appears with that particular plane.
