Engine Sound Development Video-log
« on: November 12, 2023, 02:15:28 PM »

Lately I have been working on updated engine sounds, pistons and jets. Various examples will be detailed in this thread in video format. After all, the ingenious and revolutionary VSM deserves a competitor, no?  ;)

First up, Jumo 004s (or whatever the game considers to be "Jumo004A", including BMW 003), exemplar: the Me 262 A-1a. Just don't pay too close attention to the landing, let's say it was a structural failure during testing of an early model...

Anywhoseywhatsits, the Jumo 004 sounds that have been around in one form or another since UJS v1.1 were actually GE CJ610 sounds, because I didn't know what actual Jumo 004s sounded like. With the release of actual Jumo 004 audio on youtube, though, a much more accurate Jumo 004 experience can be created:

More to come soon.

Next up is the R1820/R1830 (unfortunately, I haven't been able to find enough high quality audio to differentiate between them), exemplar: the F4F Wildcat.
