Quick Mission Builder

BAT 4.2.2

Hi guys,

The other night, and for no apparent reason,  my Quick Mission Builder failed.  When I clicked on the button I got the background image (which in my case is a brushed steel) but no other buttons or menus. I was locked out of the game and had to CONTROL Alt Delete.

I then discovered that the same problem exists in all four modules. This lead me to conclude that the corrupted file is not in the modules themselves.

I have a clean fully functional back up of the game on an external so I started replacing files with new clean ones.  BUT so far nothing has worked.

Can anybody tell me what file controls the functionality of this section and where it resides so that I can replace it?

Thanks for your wisdom

Try going into your game folder and find the "Quicks" Folder.
Inside that there should be an item called "last.quick".
Delete this item and try to run your game.
Don't worry about deleting it - each time you run a Quick Mission
a new one is generated.
If you don't trust me and want to hedge your bets , just rename the item
to something else and you will have it to go back to if my suggestion doesn't
work.
Let us know how you make out.

I always rename my " Quicks " folder as " -Quicks " to disable it .

Thanks for the suggestion Kopf but sadly it didn't work.

Personally I'm blaming it on Global Warming.

I'm currently copying my back up game over to my computer and we'll see if that works OK.

OK so now I'm completely baffled.

I've just done a total reinstall from my "clean" backup  and the problem still exists.

What the hell!!!!  Could it be something in my USERS folder?

Just verifyling the exact path you explored -
Please excuse and ignore if you got it right the first time.

Did you look into the "IL2 Game/Quicks" Folder ,  or the
"IL2 Game/Missions/Quick" Folder for the "last.quick" ???

The one you want to delete is the "IL2/Quicks/last.quick"

Hope you get it sorted - this type of issue drives me mental.

Hi Kopf

Yes indeed I went to the IL2/ Quicks folder and deleted the last.quick

After my last post I booted up the back-up game from my external drive and it worked perfectly.  But the two versions on the C drive still refuse to work

And I agree... this type of issue drives me nuts too  LOL

On top of IL2 Game/Quicks/.last.quick

Go to IL2 Game/Users/0/.last.quick and delete that quick as well.  I had a similar problem and that fixed it after reading through the forums.
