I had been excited for this show since it was announced in 2012. I read all the source material, Millers sub-par book of the same name, Luck Of the Draw by Murphy and Wing And A Prayer by Crosby. I watched it go from HBO to Apple in 2019 and thought that can't be good. I thought Band Of Brothers was great from beginning to end, The Pacific was okay, and after reading the source material I had a better appreciation for the two characters, but the show felt disjointed jumping between Guadalcanal and Alabama, Cape Gloucester and New York, Peleliu and Los Angeles... etc. I knew they built two replica B-17s and that a lot of it would be CGI. I was excited because I know companies can do some amazing things with CGI now (there were 13 effects companies for MotA, I counted). I was wrong! I only watched three episodes. Even with CGI they didn't get the insignias right, they don't know, or don't care, I think both. I didn't watch it long enough to see them not digitally add chin turrets on the B-17Gs. If the 2012 film Argo can go back in post production and digitally fix the needle drop being put on the right track at the end of side 2 of Led Zeppelin IV for "When the Levee Breaks" I don't think there is any excuse for some planes (that are the main point of the series) to be marginally represented accurately. Again, they don't know or don't care. On the second episode (the Norway mission) they state they are under attack by Ju-88s, Crosby's book mentions this, the planes shown are Bf-110s.
Here is a link to the stupid show. I assume you understand how an adblocker and a website work:
