PvF’s recordings and screenshots
« on: January 24, 2024, 05:54:33 AM »

I’ll start this thread off with a few of my YouTube uploads and see where this takes me

This was a recording of a recording that FL2070 made a few evenings ago that features me landing a B-36 successfully on an Essex class carrier.

Enjoy!

This is the full 2 and a half hour recording of the session that included the B-36 carrier landing.

This video includes voice audio from the session.

Enjoy!

Brilliant.
I should have the recording of KT's Fifi's landing floating around somewhere as well.
Reminds me that I need to have a second look at the flight model of that bird.
Takeoff looks reasonably well (yes, slightly too good to be true, but then again, for RL performance we lack the required runways in IL-2), but landing... oh boy. A Storch has trouble to stop that quick :D

While I agree that the performance of the B-36 is a little bit better than it should be, I think that changing its take off and landing performance would be a hindrance to future missions. There would be a considerable issue considering that the IRL plane wouldn’t be able to operate from any existing fields in the game.

I also threw all the props to reverse pitch about ten feet from touching the deck so there was serious reverse thrust.
